Fibre from the inner bark of the mulberry tree is loosely called Washi in Japan and Hanji in South Korea.
Kozo (Japanese) or Maru (Korean)Paper has a smoother appearance than the cloud dragon variety and is mounted in a traditional frame or suspended./p>
This material is almost identical to that found on over 100 year old Japanese prints. Its natural fade resistant color remains unchanged over time long after paper materials have gone brown and crumbled. ./p>
This material is coated, printing on the rear uncoated side usually results in blurring as the ink runs down the fibre stands. The coating used by GMS does not destroy the texture being clear and preserves the authenticity of the product.
GMS supplies custom profile’s for the Canon Lucia Pro version 1 and Version 2 ink sets and custom printing services. More sheet and roll sizes will become available in 2025.
The material is suitable and excels in color gamut when used with smaller desktop printers that use dye based inks. The Canon/Epson A4 and A3 plus (13 by 19 inches} machines work especially well.
