Sihl’s 3670 Imola Self adhesive Photo Satin is the worlds best known material in this class.
Unlike normal photo papers, this material is highly flexible and can be bent at 180 degrees without cracking and is water resistant without any sort of coating.
On smooth surfaces the adhesion is permanent, the finish is resistant to mild and even medium scratching.
3670 eliminates the need for most indoor over lamination coatings and substantially reduces reflection due to its surface.
When printed with more modern inks such a Canon Lucia Pro II, the objectionable darkening and color shift from cheap over laminates is eliminated as they are not required
When used with high quality (usually European) overlaminates in gloss, color is significantly enhanced
3670 is an exhibition quality material and can be used to display huge photographs without the weight of glass or acrylic, it is PVC free and not known to shrink over time.
GMS regularly profiles and gives advice on this materials adhesion characteristics, including distribution of CNC cut shapes for mounting 3670 to make circular, oval, hexagonal or other shapes.
