Low Sheen Canvas Products – Zero Coating Types
Alumina coated canvas products should now be considered the default inkjet canvas types as they offer superior color gamut and an attractive low sheen finish.
Available for both Waterbased and signage inkjet printers alike, these products can usually be stretched immediately after printing. The new tougher more malleable finish makes the liquid lamination or coating process optional and allows small retailers the ability to supply customers with a finished product within a single day.
Alumina coated products can be additionally enhanced with non mandatory over coatings that alter the gloss levels and provide enhanced scratch, chemical and light protection using HVLP spray guns or handy pressure packs.
The new version of the InkjetPro Premium Edition product is not only the highest performance in the Australian market today but offers a better price per square meter than many outdated matt products and decore canvas types.
Matt Canvas – Coating Required
The traditional ink-jet canvas types are matt silica layered products that require over coating with liquid laminates for both stretching and display presentation regardless of the ink type used.
With very similar print qualities to the best fine art papers, treatment with GMS liquid coatings such as Inkjetpro Aquathane have shown to produce
archival lives of greater than 100 years using many pigment ink types.
All GMS canvas types are acid free in the base. GMS does not distribute “decorative” canvas types.
Canvas base types – Cotton, Cotton/Poly and Polyester
GMS distributes inkjet canvas made from all three popular base types. All three types are acid free with the trend being to the higher polyester content products.
Polyester is naturally brighter in tone and considerably more sag resistant. All GMS 100% cotton types are heavier in nature to prevent shrinkage which is an unavoidable issue with sub 400gsm cotton products.
