German made fibre based Baryta paper.
Late 2024 stock with revised flexibility base.
Baryta is a thick white paste developed in europe in the 1850’s for silver gelatin printing papers.
There are very few makers of this technology, most are coated by Sihl of Germany and sold in the US without
admission as to the true creator.
GMS buys the product directly from the coater and uses the traditional technology of a neutral colored
alpha cellulose base that has a low sheen for a very authentic look.
Delivering the ultimate black and white images that look exactly like the old Agfa papers post world war II
this neutral base works for color display as well. The new formulation has a stronger print surface and makes the
ultimate enlargements, significantly surpassing plastic lustre papers.
Unlike plastic metallics and lustres the denser base can be adhered to high quality foamboard without showing deformation.
The lower gloss level imparts a richness not achievable by other media.
